Gilly and Gibbs to stay in IPL…

International stars Adam Gilchrist and Herschelle Gibbs insist they are keen to continue playing in the Indian Premier League despite security concerns following the Jaipur bomb blasts.

Several Rajasthan Royals players are considering going home after a string of explosions tore through busy markets and the old town of Jaipur on Tuesday, leaving more than 80 people dead and hundreds more injured.

But Australian wicketkeeper Gilchrist and South Africa batsman Gibbs have confidence in the beefed-up security.

"We know we will be guarded by the security we have. We trust the security we have," Gilchrist told Times Now.

Gibbs added: "We can control only what we can control. We are keen to play the game."

IPL chairman Lalit Modi, meanwhile, has confirmed Saturday's match between Rajasthan and Bangalore Royal Challengers will go ahead as planned despite the blasts.

"The players were concerned. But we had a talk and things have been sorted out now," he told television channel NDTV.

"However as a mark of respect we will not have any music, cheerleaders and other such entertainment packages on the day."

When asked what security arrangements have been made for the match, he replied: "I am not at liberty to disclose much, but we are requesting the public come to the stadium with no bags of any kind."

"Each and every one entering and leaving the ground will be frisked. The players area, dressing rooms and such will be completely cordoned off."

Australian pair Shane Warne and Shane Watson are currently in Goa and have expressed their concern over the situation in Jaipur, with South Africa skipper Graeme Smith another believed to be pondering his IPL future.

Rajasthan performance manager, Australian Darren Berry, told Times Now: "We are seriously considering going home. It is terrifying to think that we were standing a couple of days ago two kilometres away from the blast site."

"Post-blasts it is a very uneasy situation. I have a wife and three kids back in Melbourne."

Royals chief executive Fraser Castellieno added: "We know of the players' concerns."
