Chennai the Kings of IPL with all wins …

Chennai claimed six wickets in the final four overs as Bangalore collapsed with victory in sight in their IPL clash on Monday.

Bangalore slumped from 4-142 to be dismissed for 165 and lose by 13 runs to the undefeated Chennai.

Ross Taylor and Wasim Jaffer's second-wicket stand of 89 had given Bangalore a chance of overhauling Chennai's 5-178, but a combination of suicidal batting and accurate bowling saw those hopes crushed.

Chennai skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni had earlier plundered a majestic 65 just when his side looked to be struggling.

Bangalore was smoking early as economical bowling frustrated the league leaders.

Matthew Hayden (13) was lucky not to drag a Zaheer Khan delivery onto to his stumps, but was bowled the very next ball - again via the edge of the bat - as the Australian came down the track.

Parthiv Patel looked to take the game to Bangalore and clobbered a maximum over fine leg off Kumar.

But it was the bowler who had the last laugh as Patel, on 21, nicked an away-swinger and Jacques Kallis pouched the catch in slips.

And Suresh Raina, having bludgeoned one six straight down the ground and another over long on, was run out just as he looked to be getting into his stride.

The batsman paid the price for looking for a second run after a misfield and was run out by Jaffer for 28.

Successive sixes from Michael Hussey sparked the Chennai innings into life.

The Australian, who had started rather sedately, swept a maximum over mid-on and followed up by pulling the next delivery over the same boundary.

Dhoni joined the party with a huge six down the ground and proceeded to put the Bangalore bowlers to the sword with a series of boundaries, racing to 65 from just 30 balls.

The India captain was eventually caught in the deep by Bharat Chipli off Zaheer, who took his third wicket to dismiss Hussey (47 off 37) with the last ball of the innings.

The signs looked ominous for Bangalore when Chipli's middle stump was uprooted by Manpreet Gony for eight.

Jaffer and Taylor though took the game by the scruff of the neck, peppering the boundary at regular intervals, a 119-metre maximum from the New Zealander the pick of the bunch.

Albie Morkel in particular felt the full force of their punishment, conceding 24 runs in his opening two overs.

Jaffer reached 50 before he was finally caught low down by Palani Amarnath off Jacob Oram in the deep.

Jacques Kallis (14) came and went before Taylor (53 from 34) drove a Raina delivery straight to Amarnath at extra cover.

And Mark Boucher (four), Rahul Dravid (nought), Virat Kohli (12), Zaheer (eight), Kumar (six) and Dale Steyn (one) all made the walk back to the pavilion as the Bangalore innings imploded.
