Dale steyn removes Mccullum for nought and Vincent for 18 as Kiwis struggle in the power play as Styris alone holds the show in the decider .
Earlier , Daniel Vettori began New Zealand's bid to win their first bilateral series in South Africa on a positive note by winning the toss and batting in the final one-dayer in Cape Town. The three match series is tied 1-1 after New Zealand drew level with a comprehensive seven-wicket victory in Port Elizabeth.
South Africa, however, have a formidable record at Newlands; they've won 12 out of the 14 ODIs played there since the start of 2000. Their last defeat was against West Indies in the World Cup opener in 2003. They will be boosted by the news that Graeme Smith, whose participation in the decider was doubtful because of illness, has been declared fit to play.
The only change to the South African XI, one which New Zealand will be extremely wary about, is the inclusion of fast bowler Dale Steyn in place of allrounder Albie Morkel. Steyn destroyed New Zealand in the Tests, taking 20 wickets at an average of 9.20 and although he has been expensive in his short one-day career, New Zealand will be wise not to take his extreme pace lightly.
New Zealand have retained the same combination that completed the clinical victory in the second one-day international at St George's Park. Jacob Oram's return had made a significant difference in leveling the series and they've persisted with the two-spinner strategy in Jeetan Patel and Daniel Vettori.
Rarely has a series gone to the wire in South Africa, for the home team has usually been dominant. South Africa have won 11 out of their previous 12 series at home; their last defeat came against Australia in 2001-02. If New Zealand were to win today, apart from it being a significant achievement, the victory would give them something positive to take home after the brutal battering in the Tests.
